Regatta
- The Junior Olympics Manual is available on-line in PDF format
- Mike Austin has the information from the Junior Olympics with Committee Chairs
- Notice of Race needs to be completed
- Joe Young, Doug Young, Bob Speers, Kevin Bracy to work together to get documented and submitted for review
Food
- The LunchBox in downtown Sandusky was suggested as a possible source of lunches
- Investigated the Sandusky Yacht Club as a location for the banquet and found that they already have a wedding booked.
- Brad Huntley is going to investigate booking the Goodtime for a cruise and banquet on the final evening
Measurement
- Suggested that we use the Juniors building as the primary location for sails measurement
Race Committee
- Doug Young is available, but still needs to be confirmed as PRO
- 2/18 Hank Boissoneault confirmed with Doug
- Once he confirms, we will need to get the National Race Committee to approve
- 2/18 discussed with Alan Freeland and lined this up. Still needs to be formalized
- Jim Keane suggested for Judge
- Post meeting, Jim declined due to having family members participating in the regatta. He has made some suggestions and Jim Ward is following up on the suggested names
- US Sailing Race Management Manual was suggested as a good source of information
- Determined that we would continue to have Wednesday night club race and would invite all Nationals participants to join the club race.
- Club race would only be scored for SSC boats.
- Will also have a “Master’s Division” as part of the club race with awards to the top 3 ’50 and over’ skippers
Advertising
- North – committed to providing Bow #s and a couple giveaways
- Quantum – still need to be approached
- – is the web site for Nationals
Housing
- Suggest that we approach the ‘big boats’ at SSC and see if they would be agreeable to allowing people to ‘camp’ on their boats or to rent their boats
Budget
- Would like to see numbers for the overall event.
Awards
- Eileen reviewed the options that have been explored
- Acrylic ‘Sail’ - $2400
- Metal plates - $1000
- Discussed the idea of having ‘very nice’ trophies
- Liked the idea of having a design or logo that was unique to the area
