Welcome and Introductions

Approved meeting summary from ATS Summit on September 17, 2016.

Chair Report (Nitin Seam)

Dr. Seam reviewed the Committee Benchmarks for this year.

Benchmarks, 2017-2018:

  • Provide new weekly (on average) relevant online content for pulmonary/critical care/sleep providers
  • Maintain a fellows home page that coordinates content with MITT and Training Committees
  • Partner with Section on Med Ed to continue to develop Best of ATS Video Lecture Series, a portal for vetted educational videos related to pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine
  • In collaboration with Membership and MITT committees, develop a customizable “My ATS” home page for members after sign-in to thoracic.org

MyATS

Two drafts were presented to the Committee.

Version 1

Version 2

Many committee members liked Version 2, no profile picture. Some suggestions included:

  • Instead of “Bookmark this page”, change it to “Add to My Favorites”
  • Committee documents should be included to be easily accessible
  • Registration links for Conference
  • If no assembly, a link to choose one.
  • Add membership ID number under Member Type
  • If we can sync and add an Outlook calendar icon
  • Next draft will be presented by the Leadership Summit in October

Follow-up on Past Issues raised by Committee Members

Search strategies for members from Assembly Home pages (Shirin Shafazand)

Create an autosearch of PubMed articles. Is it feasible for each assembly?

Dr. Seam noted that each assembly should decide if this would be feasible for them.

Thoughtful use of social media metrics (Rakesh Bhattacharjee)

Using Twitter analytics, Dr. Bhattacharjee proposes to collate members to engage in regular tweets. Identify members to actively tweet for 12 months. Use HootSuite. Use a common hashtag so they are branded together.
