ATLAS SCHOOLS’ PARENTS DAY
This is the day when all Atlas fraternity converge to cerebrate first the Pre Unit pupil’s completion of their Nursery School plus the standard seven pupils who are completing their Primary leaving level after doing their National Examinations (PLSE). Thus all Atlas Pupils, teachers, parents, friends and family come together to cerebrate the big day.
This Grand cerebration is usually held on each 14th, October every year which is also a day of the ‘father of the Nation, JK NYERERE where by the Atlas community commemorate with the rest of the masses to officially climax all the annual activities of the institution by imitating the father of the Nation’s ideologies of the social Responsible Freedom, solidarity, self reliance, hospitality and integrity as the founder’s core values state.
Preparations for the big Day usually commence in September where by pupils start preparing activities to be presented to the parents in form of role plays, drama, singing, dancing, miming, poem and religious verse recitations to mention a but few. This goes on till the big day when pupils are fully trained enough to present their expertise to their parents in co-curricular activities.
It is a day also for giving speeches about the challenges, strengths, threats, weaknesses and the progress or success of the school by reflecting on where we were the previous years, where we’ve reached and what we intend to do or where we are heading to.
Besides, it’s also a day for thanks giving, appreciation especially to the most outstanding pupils and workers of the year in various disciplines, departments and categories where by rewards and presents are given to the specific categories in form of certificates, hard cash, as well as transferable and non transferable material as well, things like land, cars, houses and trophies.
Generally the day is usually an enormous one usually comprising over ten thousand people for the last year (10,000) all with same goal of uplifting the academic performance of the pupils to excellence as it has been exhibited in the previous years consecutively and also hopeful subsequently.
Hence this year around, we are expecting over twelve thousand (12,000) guests depending on the number of pupils we are having which is over five thousand students each with their two parents, friends , relatives and neighbours are happily all welcome.
