The Woodruff Scout Reservation, located in Blue Ridge Georgia, provides Scouts of all ages and experience with an outstanding summer camp program. From the spectacular first-year camper Mountain Man program, to extensive Merit Badge offerings, and through challenging High Adventure programs, Scouts experience fun and adventure, while maximizing their advancement opportunities. The Robert W. Woodruff Scout Reservation is a nationally accredited camp by the Boy Scouts of America. The camp’s staff consists of over 150 program & support staff members. Troops and patrols can also participate in a wide variety of activities including:

Archery / Climbing/Rappelling / Mountain Boarding / Rifle
Canoeing / Field Sports / Nature/Ecology / Rowing
Conservation / Hiking / Outdoor skills / Swimming

Fees

A week at CampWoodruff is one of the best deals out there:

  • Total $300.00 per Scout (less popcorn credits, if any)
  • Fee can be made in two payments ($100 due February 1, with the remaining $200 due by May 1)
  • Checks must be payable toBSA Troop 370

Transportation to Camp

We will coordinate transportation for all Scouts that are interested. We will meet at St. James at 9:30 am on Sunday, June 7, and leave promptly at 10:30 am. Please send your scout with a sack lunch. Also make sure he has easy access to his bathing suit.

What to wear

We travel in BSA Class A uniforms. Make sure your scout packs a hanger because he will wear his Class A shirt every day.

During camp, the boys should wear their Troop t-shirt, or other appropriate t-shirts, and scout shorts. Shoes must be worn at all times. No sandals or open toe shoes are allowed. Remember to bring old tennis shoes for the river!

Money/Trading Post

There will be little need for money at camp. Nor will there be any place they can lock their money up. We will have snacks and drinks at camp around the clock. However, Scouts may purchase handicraft materials and toilet articles at the Trading Post (and maybe an ice cream or two!) $20-25 should be plenty.

Adults

You are encouraged to come spend the week at Woodruff. There are complete Adult Training opportunities. If you can not come for the entire week, please consider coming either Sunday through Tuesday evening, or Wednesday evening through Friday. We expect 50+ boys this year. It would be ideal to have 4-6 adults spend the entire week at camp. So submit those vacation requests now!

There will be extremely limited access to the OcoeeRiver trip for adults.Please do not schedule your days at Woodruff expecting an Ocoee trip as these will likely not be available

Patrols

We will elect a Camp Senior Patrol Leader, and create CampPatrols with Camp Patrol Leaders. We will camp, eat, and function by Patrols. We will sleep in platform tents on cots provided by the camp; two Scouts per tent. Each day we will determine which is the best Patrol.

Not Allowed At Camp

The following items are not allowed at Scout Camp in the hands of Scouts, so please do not bring:

  • Electronics (Game Boys, CD/MP3 Players, Radios, etc.)
  • Gasoline, Kerosene, Butane or Propane lanterns or stoves
  • Sheath Knives
  • Pets
  • Firearms or ammunition
  • Fireworks
  • Any alcohol or tobacco product
