More on Timing chips (RFIDs)

Each athlete must have a RFID chip to be worn on their shoe or ankle during their race. This is to streamline timing and finish line procedures. Chips can easily be attached to athlete’s shoe lace or alternatively on a piece of elastic or a strap around the ankle.

Each chip has a unique number which is recorded against the athlete’s name and is not transferable. Only chips issued by LAWA for the Winter competition can be used.

LAWA staff / officials will not be able to replace lost chips on the day of competition. The Southern Districts Winter Officer can allocate a replacement chip however this has to be done on the Thursday evening before the week they wish to compete.

New and replacement timing chips/age tags/SD shirts will be available to pick up from Zoe (Winter Officer) and/or Louisa (Registrar) on the 26th April at Piney Lakes Reserve Winthrop (Carpark off Murdoch Drive) – 5-6 pm only.
