Essential Criteria
Education/
Qualifications.
(Skills attained through education or training) / Working at Foundation degree Level 4 or above (preferably computer science / systems administrator / web design and development) and/or appropriate professional qualification (operational management, assessment and/or adult teaching)
Proven Ability
(The knowledge skills and aptitudes needed for the job holder to perform the required job competently, these attributes will normally have been gained by exposure to work of a similar type) / Technical specification
  • Three to five years’ experience in the training (eLearning) sector undertaking work of a similar nature
  • At least one year’s experience of supervising and/or managing staff
  • 2-5 years relevant work experience in widely recognised virtual learning environment i.e. administration of Moodle platform
  • Experience of website management, Content Management Systems and web accessibility
  • Experience of web and graphics design using Adobe creative suite or similar tools
  • Experience of working with eLearning content authoring tools (Articulate studio or similar) and have an understanding of eLearning standards / compliance
  • An understanding of how web-based, multimedia and mobile technologies can be used to enhance learning, teaching and assessment.
  • Knowledge of contemporary trends and best practice in e-learning (desirable)
  • Involvement in the design, production and support of training materials for learning technologies
  • Demonstrable knowledge of accessibility standards (W3C-WAI, SENDA, DDA), digital copyright, Intellectual property rights, data protection and plagiarism.
  • Excellent web authoring skills including HTML and CSS and using packages such asDreamweaver, Captivate, Flash, Photoshop and Adobe Premiere.
  • To monitor the usage of Moodle and E-Learning systems, producing reports and statistics as necessary.
  • Excellent computer literacy in a windows environment including Microsoft Office2003/ 2007/2010

  • Knowledge of training, assessment and quality assurance processes within young people’s workforce sector
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and initiatives relating to children’s and youth services, play, early years, childcare, and disablism
  • Experience of supporting and advising others in a professional capacity
  • Excellent communication skills across a wide range of audiences, including presentations, promotion
  • Experience of planning and prioritising own work programmes effectively within tight deadlines and providing own basic admin support
  • To contribute effectively as a member of a geographically dispersed, multi-disciplinary team
