JOB SUMMARY:

The Digital Promotions Coordinator for the Office of Communications will manage all ASUW communications through social media. Additionally, the Digital Promotions Coordinator will be responsible for web content, focusing on written and visual content.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  1. Manage the implementation and administration of social media support strategies across the ASUW.
  1. Boosting ASUW awareness to the campus community on social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter and the ASUW website.
  1. Assist with project management for large and small-scale marketing initiatives to support ASUW entities.
  1. Partner with the Director of Communications to publicize ASUW initiatives and events through online platforms.
  1. Keep ASUW webpage up to date with pictures, videos and text assuring that UW students recognize the work the ASUW is doing.
  1. Work with the ASUW President and Graphic Designers to design an eye-catching and memorable all campus email.
  1. Collect and analyze any Internet traffic data that is relevant to their position, using programs including but not limited to Google analytics, YouTube statistical data and Facebook statistical data.
  1. Meet with the Director of Communications on a weekly basis.
  1. Ensure messaging is relevant and aligned with branding guidelines developed by the Communications Director.
  1. Present all social networking proposals to the Director of Communications for final approval.
  1. Transcribing all campus email and editing content.
  1. Maintain and inform the ASUW Personnel Director and the Student Activities Office (SAO) adviser of all completed and missed office hours, including any absences due to sickness, personal emergencies or work-related trips.
  1. Meet with SAO adviser as needed and upon request, as well as participating in a quarterly evaluation process.
  1. Attend ASUW mandatory training sessions and staff meetings, including by not limited to the ASUW Fall Orientation and ASUW Personnel meetings.
  1. Review and adhere to conditions of employment as stated in the ASUW Personnel Policy, the signed ASUW Memorandum of Understanding and the Student Employment Handbooks. All actions must also follow the laws and procedures set by ASUW, SAO and the State of Washington.
  1. Responsible for initiating a through transition with newly hired successor before finals week of Spring Quarter to instill institutional memory and ensure continuity. Prepared documents, such as a transition binder/folder, are recommended.

  1. Knowledge of the ASUW, its entities and programs.
  1. Demonstrated creativity and artistic merit.
  1. Skill with a wide array of social media and blogging websites.
  1. Clear written and spoken communication skills.
  1. Organizational abilities.
  1. Ability to work under stress.
  1. Experience with promotions and working within a budget.
  1. Ability to work with and recruit students.
  1. Prior experience representing an organization or company using social media preferred.
  1. Must be a UW student enrolled in at least 6 credits or on leave as defined by Executive Order 50.
