POSITION: Part Time Food Services (3)

TERM: Sept 1st, 2018 - April 30th, 2019

RATE OF PAY: $10.90 per hour plus Vacation Pay

DUTIES:Working as afood service handlerduring scheduled shifts, predominantly evenings some days; duties include, but are not limited to, dispensing food and beverage products, handling food, and promoting store and store merchandise to customers.

TRAINING: Consists of mandatory job orientation at commencement of the work term plus periodic training seminars and staff meetings throughout the year.

PREREQUISITES: Strong customer service, organizational, time management, and communication skills; ability to respond creatively to pressure; unique promotional skills. Previous food service experience is considered an asset. Sessional GPA of 2.00 or above.

HOURS:Part Time during academic year. Hours are scheduled. Expect approximately 10-15 hours per week.

Job Description

Food Services- Axe Bar

General: All staff will work to ensure the efficient operation of the Food Service outlets and will report to Food and Beverage Manager. All staff are expected to have read and adhere to all employment standards laid out in the ASU Part time Staff handbook

Specific:

a)All food service employees are expected to open and close the kitchen when assigned

b) All food service employees are expected to interact with the customer’s and other staff in a professional manner that will promote and enhance the offered services.

c) All Food Services employees with be expected to learn and cook at all Axe Kitchen stations which includes the grill line, sandwich prep area, pizza oven, and all other kitchen work stations

d) All staff will ensure the food service areas are kept clean and orderly and follow the cleaning checklists supplied for the area.

e) Food service employeeswill be trained in food handling proceduresand proper portion controlfor their scheduled area.

f) All food service employees will record and pass on any messages on a timely basis.

g)Allfood service employees are to report any operational problems, customer questions or requests to the Manager.

h) Food Services employee is expected to be able to operate and clean the dishwasher

i) Any other duties as assigned by the Food & Beverage Manager.

Dress code: All Staff are expected to report to work with a clean uniform. Ball caps or Hairnets must be worn when entering kitchen or service area. No open toed shoes or sandals are allowed in Food service areas.

Shift changes: all shifts are your responsibility so if you are unable to make a shift please find a replacement and inform the Manager via email or phone.24 hours’ notice is appreciated.

Food Safety: All food staff are expected to follow all Food Safety standards discussed at training.
