Astral Cloaks (1.87)

The monsters in CelestiusCity that are killed during the ML10 trial, drop weapons and armour that can be used in a special way. Each of these has ‘Astral’ in the name and a character requires three of them : a chestpiece or tunic, leggings and a weapon. When these have been equipped for at least 15 minutes the chest armour can be Used to generate an Astral Cloak. The type you get depends on your class and not on the type of Astral items used to generate it. As long as the leggings and chest armour remain equipped, and as long as you don’t handle any other piece of Astral equipment, then the cloak stays with you, but you can relinquish the Astral weapon and still keep the cloak. The moving of other Astral armourloses you the cloak if it is equipped or in your inventory even if it has no relevance to your character. This is probably unintended and has been reported as a bug.

The Astral cloaks all look the same and have an identical skin to the ML9 Feathered Wrap – a poor design decision by Mythic – and are grey, so that they do not take light dyes particularly well. You may put the cloak in your personal vault without losing it but not in a house vault or on a CM, so you can’t trade it between characters. If you put the cloak in your vault you can generate others. You do not lose Astral Cloaksin your vault if you unequip or move astral armour. You can therefore go back to other armour and still have an Astral cloak or two. (This may have been corrected in patches later than 1.87). If you have dyed an Astral Cloak with an expensive dye and know you are going to move other Astral stuff, put the dyed cloak in your personal vault first.

Astral Armour (Midgard)

Two pieces are needed to generate the cloak and, unless the cloak is in the personal vault, the armour needs to be kept equipped to retain it.
