Position Summary: Support the current operational information and assessment system software packages utilized by Oakland Schools’ staff and local school districts. Duties include providing training, assistance and consultation to staff.

Essential Functions and Tasks:

  • Provide training, assistance and consultation to staff on a variety of student information technology-related matters including resolution of system problems.
  • Respond to a variety of data and information requests; create customized SQL queries and reports as needed.
  • Assist in the development and conducting of technical training programs to ensure efficient utilization within the workplace of new and existing technology and software applications.
  • Act as a liaison between the Technology Department and end-users.
  • Assist in preparing and documenting standard operating procedures for assigned software applications.
  • Assist in development of detailed test and implementation plans and testing of system enhancements and projects with user area.
  • Analyze basic data information in relation to assigned functional areas in order to incorporate an understanding of user implications.
  • Recommend, design, and implement business solutions for functional, technical, service, or process issues.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal mandates including reporting requirements related to assigned focus areas. Recommend system changes as appropriate to ensure compliance.

Job Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Two or more years of related experience.
  • Ability to properly utilize tools and equipment necessary in conducting training workshops. The incumbent is also required to occasionally sit at a computer terminal for extended periods of time and properly operate required office equipment such as a personal computer, fax machine, copier and the like.

Employment Terms:

Twelve month work year. Salary based on the Progression Increment Salary System, Market Range 9 with a salary range of $62,071 to $70,975 annually.
