Introduction and Job Purpose
To participate in maintaining the accounting records of the College including payroll transactions and in developing and improving its financial and internal control procedures under the direction of the Management Accountant.
Key Accountabilities
  1. To maintain the cash book and associated records, invoicing and collection of debts due to the College including student accounts on Prosolutions.
  2. Assist in producing monthly payroll, including transactions and third party returns
  3. To assist in producing month end accounts including sales ledger and cash book
  4. To assist budget managers in interpreting and understanding financial information.
  5. To undertake further duties commensurate with the post and specified by the Management Accountant
  6. To comply with all Health & Safety and Equality & Diversity legislation together with ensuring and promoting safeguarding of all who use the College.
  7. To undertake all aspects of the post in accordance with the College’s Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety and Safeguarding policies and schemes
  8. To comply with the College’s Data Protection policy in relation to the collection, use, storage and disposal of personal and/or sensitive data.
  9. The appointee will be expected to undertake such other duties, directed by the Management Accountant, as may reasonably be required of him/her, either at their initial place of work or at other locations in the College catchment area

Payroll qualification – eg computerized or manual payroll / D / QA
