district implementation plan cost proposal

Proposed Scope of Work and Budget for ABC County Public Schools

This is a proposal from Pearson Assessment Training Institute (ATI) for the ABC County Public Schools to provide all or some of the services listed below. The district can choose all or select from the options presented. Costs for all sessions described below, both the boot camps and the optional follow-up/support days, include the honorarium for ATI staff to offer the workshops, travel costs, the costs of accommodations and meals, as well as all of the materials needed for training participants. Because of the staging/delivery calendar, options selected by the district can be ordered on multiple purchase orders in order to align with school/calendar/budget years.

  • A three-day “boot camp” presentation from Jan Chappuis to a ABCCPS selected training cadre to prepare them to present the ATI one-day workshop “Getting Started with Classroom Assessment for Student Learning.” This session introduces the content of the book Classroom Assessment for Student Learning: Doing it Right—Using it Well, 2nd ed. (Chappuis, Stiggins, Chappuis and Arter, 2011)
  • A three-day “boot camp” presentation from Jan Chappuis to a ABCCPS selected cadre to prepare them to present the ATI one-day workshop “Getting Started with Seven Strategies of Assessment for Learning.” This session introduces the content of the book Seven Strategies of Assessment for Learning (Chappuis, 2009)
  • A three-day “boot camp” (presenter TBD) to a ABCCPS cadre to prepare them to present the ATI one-day workshop “Getting Started with Sound Grading Practices.” This session introduces the content of the book A Repair Kit for Grading: Fifteen Fixes for Broken Grades, 2nd ed. (O’Connor, 2011)

Each of these three-day sessions, delivered for a participant audience of no larger than 25 participants, is $18,000 in cost, for a total cost for all three sessions of $54,000. ATI will provide all handouts and materials, including copies of the required books, participant workbooks, and facilitator handbook/notes/PowerPoint decks as part of this cost.

Additional support/maintenance service:

One day follow-up sessions for each of the three main sessions are recommended but optional. These sessions would follow each boot camp by 2–3 months, and focus on the presentation content/successes/obstacles that have been experienced in cadre member presentations, with part of the agenda/topics determined by the ABCCPS cadre. In addition, each day would include content presentations and interactive sessions on how to advise/coach others in managing the learning team model of professional development.

Each one-day session is $6,000. ATI will provide digital copies of participant handouts

These services come with Pearson ATI training materials (handouts, books/videos) and are the intellectual property of ATI. ATI as the publisher and distributor retains ownership of all proprietary rights, including patent, copyright and trademark. For this proposal, permission is granted for use in school/district training of the ATI workshops listed above, providing the district agrees to an intellectual property subscription, sold individually per workshop or for all the three workshops. See attachment A for a brief summary of the terms/benefits of such an agreement, and Attachment B for draft language of an agreement itself. Cost for site licenses are listed below.
