On New Certification Standard

Milwaukee,June 9, 2005 – The American Society for Quality (ASQ) and RABQSA International, the world’s leading personnel and training certification authorities, announcean agreement that will recognize ASQ-certified auditors also as RABQSA provisional auditors. A data exchange between the two organizationsenables RABQSA to streamline its application and evaluation process. As a result, all ASQ Certified Quality Auditors (CQAs) will be contacted with information outlining the application process for RABQSA certification.

Quality auditorspossess a recognized command and expertise of a specific quality Body of Knowledge (BOK) and play an essential role in an institution’s striving for increased efficiency, greater competitiveness, and higher quality. They are alsoan essential part of an institution’s quest for ISO certification. Persons certified by RABQSA are able to demonstrate that they have been independently examined and evaluated as meeting the stringent standards of ISO/IEC 17024:2003 and are competent in their knowledge. “Upon having determined that the ASQ CQA examination and related criteria meet the knowledge-based competency requirements of RABQSA’s QMS Auditor Certification, we are extremely proud to offer accredited certification to ASQ CQAs,” said Michael Carmody, Chief Executive Officer, RABQSA. “The increased international recognition and ASQ CQA entry in the ISO-based personnel certification community will provide a firm base on which to further develop the relationship between the American Society for Quality and RABQSA to the benefit of our certified personnel.”

According to Mark Kempf, Chairman of ASQ’s Quality Audit Division (QAD), “We are excited at

the added value the relationship with RABQSA will create within ASQ and QAD. For a number of
