Dr. Michael Ivanovitch
President - MSI Global, Inc.
Title
Outlook for World Economy and Major Financial Markets
The huge monetary easing by the U.S. Federal Reserve and the European Central Bank (ECB) is beginning to prop up the world economy. America’s gravely damaged financial system is now almost fully recovered and is getting back to its core business of funding private consumption and investment demand. The Eurozone – nearly one-fifth of the global economy – is being helped by the ECB’s unlimited liquidity supplies to its banking system. These ECB crisis measures are coming too late to prevent a major growth slowdown, but they will certainly speed up the euro area’s recovery in the second half of this year. Drawing on his company’s vast research on world economy and geopolitics, Dr. Ivanovitch will focus on these events and on the latest economic, financial and political developments in East Asia. He will highlight the unfolding portfolio shifts and their impact on bonds, equities, currencies and commodities.
