Dear:

As members of the Alabama Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and as advocates for local nonprofits, we see firsthand the wonderful work of Alabama’s nonprofit sector. In addition, every day, we witness the endless contributions that individuals, organizations and corporations make to ensure countless causes and missions remain viable resources for the people in our communities.

Each November, AFP Chapters all over the world set aside a day to recognize these contributions of philanthropy. In 1982, the Alabama Chapter held its first National Philanthropy Day (NPD) celebration. Twenty-eight years later, NPD has grown to more than 800 attendees who come together to recognize and honor those leaders who guide the philanthropic community by giving of time, talent and resources.

Currently the AFP Alabama Chapter has more than 120 members from a cross-section of nonprofits throughout Central Alabama representing: arts and cultural organizations; consulting firms; healthcare organizations; environmental agencies; educational institutions; social services; museums; and tourist attractions. AFP strives to advance philanthropy through ongoing advocacy, research, education and certification programs within its membership base and the community for which its members serve. With more than 28,000 members throughout North America, the Association encourages development and growth of fundraising professionals and promotes high ethical standards in the fundraising profession.

To this end, the Association of Fundraising Professionals Alabama Chapter invites COMPANYto partner with us by supporting the 2009 National Philanthropy Day celebration. Enclosed for your review are the sponsorship opportunities available to COMPANYfor on-site recognition, promotion and exposure at the event.

As you consider our request, please know that we count on committed leaders such as you to ensure the continued success of AFP and its members. The result of this investment will allow our AFP Chapter to continue to provide the resources necessary to serve our local communities through ethical fundraising. Should you have any questions, do not hesitate to give us a call.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Fields Hall, CFRESally T. Price
