Brutus Brigade Constitution

Article 1: Name, Purpose, and Non-Discrimination Policy of the Organization.

Section 1: Name - Brutus Brigade

Section 2: Purpose - The purpose of THE Brutus Brigade is to enhance the spirit of college students and community members through hands-on projects, creativity and fun! Members will be encouraged to take advantage of their creative minds with projects such as painting, sculpting, sewing, and more. Members will get up close and personal experiences with the biggest Buckeye fan on campus, Brutus!

Section 3: Non-Discrimination Policy - This organization does not discriminate on the basis of age, ancestry, color, disability, gender identity or expression, genetic information, HIV/AIDS status, military status, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, protected veteran status, or any other bases under the law, in its activities, programs, admission, and employment. Also, as a student organization at The Ohio State University, The Brutus Brigade expects its members to conduct themselves in a manner that maintains an environment free from sexual misconduct. Article 2: Membership - Categories of Membership and Removal Process

Section 1: Categories of Membership - All members of the Brutus Brigade must be enrolled students at The Ohio State University. In order to join this organization, general members must sign up through the online application, pass an interview, and have weekly availability depending on role in the group. General members will need an availability of around 1-3 hours per week, increasing with high position.

Section 2: Removal Process of Members - If a member engages in behavior that is detrimental to advancing the purpose of this organization, violates the organization’s constitution, or violates the Code of Student Conduct, university policy, or federal, state or local law, the member may be removed through a majority vote of the officers in consultation with the organization’s advisor.

Article 3: Officer Positions and Duties

Section 1:

Required leadership positions:

Primary Leader (President) - In charge of representing the student organization and coordinating weekly activities for leadership/general members

Secondary Leader - Recruitment and overseeing special events and prop work.

Treasurer - Regulates funding and fundraising events

Advisor - Oversees all student activity, while allowing students to be in charge of assigned positions.

Article 4: Officer Selection and Removal Process

Section 1:Officer Selection- Voting will be held in the spring by general members in a specified meeting by the advisor.

Section 2: Officer Removal - If an officer engages in behavior that is detrimental to advancing the purpose of this organization, violates the organization’s constitution, or violates the Code of Student Conduct, university policy, or federal, state or local law, the officer may be removed through the organization’s advisor.

Article 5: Confidentiality

Section 1: All members must sign a formal confidentiality agreement stating that they may not disclose the identities of the Brutus Program members.
