Army Co-op Information

This co-op program is offered in 2nd semester only each year. Successful applicants will begin the 2nd semester at Glenforest, and will commence the army co-op placement after 3 weeks of in-school work at school. Students will receive their BMQ (Basic Military Qualification) if they successfully complete the 3 month army program. Students are paid approximately $80 per day for participating in this program.

HOW TO APPLY:

Students MUST begin the application process in the April BEFORE their co-op course begins (eg. April 2012 for the 2012/2013 school year).

The application for this program is a very long and detailed process. Interested students should visit the website and attend one of the information sessions listed below. It is also recommended to speak to a recruiter at the 4900 Yonge St. Suite 100 office for specific questions regarding the application process (416) 856-8488.

Application Submission

Applicants are encouraged to submit their completed applications in person at the following Recruiting Centers MON-FRI 0900-1600.

Student Processing and Parent Information Nights

Students, parents and teachers are welcome to attend the following information seminars to address any questions they may have regarding the Army COOP Program. Students can obtain an application package and ask questions they may have regarding the program.

Testing Dates

Aptitude and Physical Fitness Testing will be held at Canadian Forces Recruiting Center Toronto and Barrie. Each Applicant will be given a call from the Recruiting Center to arrange a date for testing.

Application Submission Deadline – 1 November 2011

Late applications will be reviewed on a case by case basis

Enrolment and Swearing in Ceremony – Planned 07 February 2012

Courses Starts – 21 February 2012

Courses will be located at the Mississauga Armoury, 3330 Ridgeway Dr Unit 1.

****There will not be a Georgetown Armoury location****

Teacher Visits

Teacher Visits to the Armoury will be held every Friday during the lunch hour. No

appointments necessary. Other visits may be scheduled with the course

commander after the course start date.
