2015 Senior Choir

Congratulations! You have decided to be part of the 2015 Senior Choir. I am really pleased that you will be sharing in the magic that is singing together as a group.

  1. Please bring to EVERY SINGLE REHEARSAL:
  2. Writing pencil
  3. Highlighter
  4. Small Eraser (helps if you keep all this stationary in the front plastic sleeve of your file)
  5. A clean, royalblue (the colour of our school uniform) display file where ALL copies of music/lyrics given out during the year will be kept.

We cannot work together at our best if people forget to bring their choir file and writing implements. If choir files are forgotten too frequently then you may be asked to leave the choir as it is part of the commitment to the choir that they are brought to every rehearsal (see above for list of what to bring every time).

Please be responsible for your own gear!

  1. Choir starts at 2pm sharp. Please ensure that you have taken responsibility for finishing your work so you can leave your classroom on time. Our time together is precious and easily eaten up if we don’t start on time.
  1. Talking and ‘mucking around’ during choir is not appropriate. If we are singing we are singing. If you are listening to instructions, you are listening to instructions. If a section of the choir other than yours is working on their singing then you will need to show self control and stay quiet. If you are disruptive during choir then you will be asked to return to your classroom. If this continues to occur then you may be asked to leave choir altogether. If you know you cannot sit quietly without doing ‘something’ please bring a book, a piece of paper to draw on etc.
  1. If you have are attending after Week 3 Term 1, this means that you have committed to being in the choir for the entire year. If you and your parent/guardian could please sign the slip at the bottom of this letter to show that you understand this commitment and return by the due date that would be much appreciated. If you wish to stop coming to choir then this MUST be discussed with me before-hand and a note or phone call from your parent/guardian must please also occur.
  1. Some performances are during school time, however others are on the weekends/out of school time. If you could please make your best effort to attend these performances that would be ideal. During rehearsals we work on a cohesive, balanced sound and it can be difficult to perform with less than our full ‘voice’.

LETS HAVE A GREAT YEAR SINGING

Regards,

Ms Hartley (Armadale Primary School Music Specialist)
