STATE TOURNAMENT BID GUIDELINES

The Arkansas American legion is accepting bids for the 2014Senior AAA State baseball tournament. These will be looked at upon each ones merit and a decision by the baseballCommission committee on tournaments will award a site as soon as possible for planning... We will try to make decision by April15th.

The bidder shall supply the Commission with a list of services they will supply and pay for. Including the minimum: Agree to pay: 3 Umpires for each game furnish baseballs, and any other items they may so desire to provide... Fee for umpires to be determined by host and Baseball Chairman.

The bidder shall supply a diagram and list seating capacity (must be covered), playing dimensions, press box size, Internet or phone line capability, and tarp for field and or plan for rain. Minimum will be a tarp for pitchers mound and home plate. All radio and internet for the tournament is assigned by the Baseball Commission on a contract bid. No local or other stations may broadcast any games with out the approval of the contracted entity.

The bidder shall supply a covered area down one of the foul lines for any Commission members and Legion VIP’S. Refreshments would be appreciated.

Brackets and team scheduling will be by the Arkansas American Legion baseball Commission. The Commission will be using an eight team national bracket.

The State baseball chairman on the recommendation of the Zone commissioners will select umpires for games. Exception will be host will get to appoint up to 2 local umpires. All umpires must be Legion certified umpires. The State Baseball Chairman will be the tournament director. The Legion Umpire in Chief will handle all scheduling duties.

The National anthem and sportsmanship code will be played and given before each game. The tournament director will approve the national anthem.

Each team will be given 8 minutes to take infield/outfield practice before each game. This will start approximately 30 minutes before game time. This will give approximately 14 minutes for pre-game festivities.
