d) iPECS How to connect SIP service provider Yippii.Author: Will Smith
This Quick Help guide is specific to Yippii. In this example we are connecting only 1 service to 1 VOIP channel.
- Order an account from
- Download and install X-Lite onto a PC connected to the internet service.
- Start X-Lite and add the details of the sip account.
X-Lite
/ • Display Name: Membership Number
• User name: Membership Number
• Password: Password
• Authorization user name: Membership Number
• Doman: sip.yippii.com.au
• Register with domain and receive incoming calls: [ticked]
Note: If a firewall warning comes up – Choose Unblock!
Now Test.If X-Lite cannot register or make a call DO NOT CONTINUE. You must sort out your internet connection and/or account registration before proceeding.
- Install iPECS as per Q501. Upgrade as per Q517. Initialise as per Q513.
- If you have an iPECS50 make sure in PGM 101 you have increased the VOIP channels to 8.
- PGM 140 (since we only using 1 account / 1service for this guide) enter the line number of the last VOIP channel on your system. I have a default iPECS50 with 8 VOIP channels. So I am configuring line 8.
PGM140/1 = DID save. PGM141/11 CO VoIP Mode = SIP Only. (Since in this example we only have 1 SIP trunk programmed on line 8 enter back into PGM 141/11 for VOIP lines 1-7 and set to H323) - PGM 133sequence will be 1 (in this example, if using VOIM check PGM 102)
Proxy Server Address = sip.yippii.com.au
Primary DNS Address = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (enter the DNS of your choice. If unsure you can use the DNS that gets assigned to your PC. Open command prompt and type ipconfig /all)
Secondary DNS Address = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (enter second DNS of choice.)
Domain = sip.yippii.com.au
Registration UID Range = 1 - 1 - PGM 126 index 1 - This is where you enter the Yippii’s SIP account details.
Registration User ID = (11 digit membership number) +@yippii.com.au
Authentication User ID = (11 digit membership number)
Authentication User Password = (9 digit password)
Contact Number = (10 digit membership number)
User ID Register = Register
User ID Usage = ON - PGM 111 STN-STN F19 (Web56) = 1
- Reset.
- Test.
INCOMING
- Using the above settings calls will ring on the “ID ASSIGNED STATIONS” in PGM 111/19
- For flexible ring assignment in PGM 126/10 change the Ring Route type to RING ASSIGNMENT.
Then set (Line 8, in this example) in PGM 144 to the desired stations. - For DID set PGM 126/10 to “DID CONVERSION” and PGM126/11 to “Modify Using Flexible DID Conversion Table” Then in PGM 231 enter the Index of the last 3 digits of the SIP phone number and set the destinations as required.
TIP:Use PGM 141/1 - CO/IP GROUPs to place the SIP line into a separate group from the main lines. Use a Line key or POOL key (Group key) as an appearance key on the handsets. Place the unused VOIP lines into separate group also.
