2009 Grant Application
Mission
The Architecture Foundation of Oregon advocates the enhancement of our built environment, the livability of our communities, and preservation of our rich architectural heritage.
Grants Program
The Architecture Foundation of Oregon provides grants to organizations and individuals to further AFO’s mission. Typically, three to seven grants in the range of $1,000 to $5,000 have been awarded each year. AFO also funds and administers Architects in Schools and provides the $7,000 Senator Mark O. Hatfield Architectural Award and two $1,000 Rosalind Reed Dwight Scholarships.
Criteria
Projects for which grant applications are submitted should address as many as possible of the following AFO priorities:
• Advance AFO’s mission
• Provide visibility for architecture and the built environment
• Be supported by the architectural profession
• Include or have potential for statewide involvement
• Foster collaboration, leveraging organizational resources for the
greatest possible impact
• Demonstrate a broad funding base or ability to leverage AFO
funding for additional support
AFO does not fund:
• Building maintenance
• Operating expenses
