ARBO INSTANT EPDM MEMBRANE

PRODUCT DESCRTIPTION

INTRODUCTION

Following the introduction of document L, it has become a requirement to provide a robust seal to the internal interfaces between different façade components of a construction. The purpose of this seal is to reduce heat and air leakage from a building and to help prevent interstitial condensation. Rapid construction techniques, contractors demand that a building is made substantially waterproof as early as possible during construction.

Description

Arbo instant epdm membrane is a lamination between standard Arbo epdm and a special adhesive that contains a scrim which reduces stretching during application it bonds to a wide variety of non porous surfaces and is suitable for sealing gaps in the internal walls of light weight construction facades

Subject to site trials it can be used to seal to cementitous boards and panels it may be necessary to use Arbo primer 2650 to certain boards further information is available from tech services.

It is not suitable for highly porous and friable substrates

ARBO MEMBRANE EPDM

Available in 0.80 mm thickness, 25 metre length rolls.

Width – 100mm to 1000 mm in 50mm increments.

Application method

All surfaces to mustbe clean, dry and in a sound condition.

Ideally the building should be cloaked to minimise dampness during construction. Porous surfaces to be primed with Arbo Primer 2650

Peel backing and apply use ARBO roller to improve contact between substrates and membrane.

Minimum recommended lap to substrate 100 mm

Minimum lap joint 100 mm

Mechanical fixings are recommended for long term robust seal.

Lap and patch corners where necessary

Any holes or gaps in corners can be sealed with application of ARBO MA adhesive

It is not suitable for highly porous and friable substrates.

For new or untested substrates please carry out on site adhesion tests or contact Adshead Ratcliffe Technical Services Department who will be able to arrange laboratory adhesion tests free of charge
