Aquatic Class Descriptions
Ai Chi / Ai Chi is a water movement and relaxation program which can be enjoyed by anyone, regardless of fitness level or mobility, including those living with chronic illness, pain, or anxiety and who are so in need of movement activity for wellness. Non-swimmers are welcome. Hair and eye wear will not be soaked. Each flowing warm water session is appropriate for individuals of any ability and those with all medical conditions, including fibromyalgia, arthritis, MS and chronic pain.
Aqua Cardio Fitness / This is a fast-paced shallow-water pool class that uses dance routines, athletic drills, barbells, noodles and resistance bands to improve cardiovascular fitness, as well as muscle strength and endurance. Non-swimmers are welcome. This class is ideal for those who want to lose weight and improve their fitness without stressing their joints.
Aqua Intervals / During this class you’ll experience short bursts of cardiovascular exercises mixed with fun, fast-paced strength training drills to improve cardiovascular fitness, as well as strength and endurance.
Aqua
Tone / This class begins with a 45-minute walking-based cardiovascular workout, followed by 30 minutes of strength training using a variety of equipment. This class is low impact and ideal for those who are beginning an exercise program or who have been diagnosed with arthritis, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, heart disease, pulmonary disease, movement disorders.
Aqua Variations / This class is a potpourri of aqua moves that are easy to follow and fun. It also includes a wide variety of water walking techniques. All levels are welcome.
Aqua Zumba / This class is a safe, fun, water-based workout that uses easy-to-follow dance moves, motivating music and a party atmosphere to improve cardiovascular fitness. This class is designed for those who want to lose weight and improve their overall fitness level without stressing their joints.
Arthritis Aqua / This is a relaxed-pace aqua class for those new or returning to exercise following an illness or injury. This class may especially benefit those with arthritis, fibromyalgia and multiple sclerosis. This is an easy-does-it class with gentle, range-of-motion exercises designed by the Arthritis Foundation. This class is ideal for anybody with arthritis, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, pulmonary disease, movement disorders.
New You / This is a low-intensity aqua class designed for those new or returning to exercise following an illness or injury. The gentle, range-of-motion exercises designed by the Arthritis Foundation may especially benefit those with arthritis, fibromyalgia, and multiple sclerosis.
This class is ideal for: arthritis, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, pulmonary disease, but suitable for all fitness levels.
Senior Aqua / A fun-filled, joint-friendly cardiovascular and strength workout in the pool which is ideal for anybody with arthritis, chronic pain, fibromyalgia, pulmonary disease, but is suitable for all fitness levels.
Water Walking / Walking in water uses all major muscle groups, including the core. Learn the variety of ways you can change your stride and direction in the water to challenge your balance and fitness in a safe environment. All fitness levels welcome.
Water Workout / This class uses water walking-type movements combined with strengthening exercises to provide a safe and effective full body workout.
