APUSH Mega Review Assignment: Thematic Timeline

Purpose: This assignment is designed to be a group jigsaw, helping you to study key concepts, look for patterns, and organize information chronologically. The purpose is to provide you with an opportunity to thematically look for cause and effect data, recognize changes and continuities, and seek patterns of inter relationships.

Instructions:

You are going to build a chronological presentation that will be given to a small group of your peers. This presentation is going to identify events from American history and group them according to the 7 themes we have been using in APUSH. For each theme and time frame- select three events as exemplars. Make sure to explain in depth the thematic significance. Entries should be clear and concise and tightly tied to the themes. Each entry should be tied to a second theme demonstrating depth of knowledge. From this initial compilation, your Learning Team will choose one exemplar from each theme/time period to include in a Timeline that will be presented to your peers. Be careful with your selections and explanations;your timeline should demonstrate how these themes unfold in American History showing continuity and change.
