Don’t miss our Opening Keynote Presentation:
The Federal Context for Accreditationby Judith Easton, President of CHEA
As the new Congress and new Administration establish themselves, what is happening with accreditation? Are the past few years of increasing federal oversight of our work continuing or are we seeing a change in direction?
Judith S. Eaton, formerly Chancellor of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, joined CHEA as President in 1997. Judith has also been President of the Council for Aid to Education as well as of the Community College of Philadelphia and the Community College of Southern Nevada.
CHEA is a national advocate and institutional voice for promoting academic quality through accreditation. It is an association of 3,000 degree-granting colleges and universities and recognizes 60 institutional and programmatic accrediting organizations.
Dr. Eaton’s plenary presentation will alert us to the many pressures emanating from Washington that will impact how we think about quality assurance in higher education.
