CONDITIONS OF THE STUDY FUND OF THE

FOUNDATION FOR CONSERVATION OF IRISH BOGS

(Stichting tot Behoud van de Ierse Venen)

February 2008

1. The aim of the fund is to award grants for scientific research or other studies concerning Irish peatlands which are expected to be beneficial to bog conservation in Ireland. Preference is given to studies based on sciences or arts which will by means of word and image publicise the importance of Irish peatlands.

2. The maximum amount provided as a grant is 2000 Euro.

3. Applications should be presented to the chairman of the Foundation by means of the Foundation's application form preferably before January, 31, preceding the relevant study period.

4. The general board will award the grant(s) before April, 1st. Payment can take place immediately after the decision of the board (not earlier than three months before the starting date of the project).

5. The grants are intended as a contribution towards the costs of the relevant study (e.g. for travelling and accommodation), not as salaries.

6. Persons who receive a grant are asked to send a specification of the expenditure and a report of the awarded project to the chairman of the Foundation.

7. They are also expected to publicise the results of the study e.g. by an article, lecture, show or exhibition, with reference to the Foundation's name, and with an announcement to the Foundation's board. At least one copy of any written publication should be sent to the Foundation's board.

8. Grants which are not used, or have not been used in agreement with the application, can be reclaimed.
