Information to applicants

This application form is for the IFLA Building Strong Library Associations programme Asia and Oceania convening from 4-7 March 2014 in Jakarta, Indonesia. To complete your application:

1. Read through the BSLA Programme information and selection criteria on the IFLA website;

2. Complete the application form, attach a letter from the National or Regional Association. The application and attachments should be submitted in the English language or another IFLA language, but you must also send a copy in English;

3. The selection committee may contact you to clarify your application or to ask questions.

Submitting your application

All project applications and attachments should be submitted electronically by 11 December2013 to: Late applications cannot be accepted.

Applicants will be informed of the outcome according to the dates indicated on the IFLA website.

2. Library association profile (maximum 500 words)

The profile of the association should address the following points:

2.1Current state of the association: does it provide services and run activities for members, have a strong governance structure, a clear direction and strategic plan? Please outline the objectives for your association’s current strategic plan, and an overview of progress towards these goals.

2.2Number and type of members (including active members), reputation and potential for growth.

2.3Is the association’s membership open to all library workers? Are non-professional library workers allowed to join the association?

2.4Structure of the association: are many members involved in the association as office bearers? Does the association hold regular meetings and conferences? Please also outline how regions within the country are represented in the association’s structure.

2.5Is the association a member of IFLA, and to what degree has the association been involved in IFLA?
