requirements FOR the STUDENT GOVERNMENT Association
Meetings of the Governing Body are held every Thursday at 5:00 PM in the Student Success Conference Room. If elected, you are expected to attend all meetings and actively support SGA-sponsored events.
In order to qualify for any position with the Student Government Association, a candidate must meet the following qualifications:
- All members of the Governing Body must have earned at least twelve (12) hours of academic credit at Georgia Southwestern State University at the time of appointment or installation.
- Must have an overall Graduating Grade Point Average of 2.75 or above at the time of election or appointment and maintain a Graduating Grade Point Average of 2.75 throughout tenure.
- Shall be enrolled in at least twelve (12) academic hours at the time of appointment or election and maintain at least twelve (12) academic hours throughout term. In the case of graduate students, six (6) academic hours shall be sufficient.
- If running for an office on the Student Government Association Executive Board, one must have served at least one academic term (semester) in the Student Government Association as a Senator or Alternate.
