Application for CAFOD Campaign Delegation to COP24 in Poland

CAFOD is putting together a delegation of 30 people from across the Catholic community in England and Wales to join us in Katowice and Krakow, Poland for the UN climate summit, where world leaders will meet to agree how we tackle climate change and push forward the goals of the Paris Agreement.

The CAFOD delegates will be travelling by coach with a group of up to30 CAFOD supporters from5-11 Decemberto Katowice and Krakow, Poland, where the climate talks will be held. This will be an opportunity to learn about the decision-making process, hear from other campaigners across Europe on living sustainably and campaigning on climate change, reflect on partner stories and bear witness with others for change.

In return, we would ask you to engage in the community with CAFOD’s new climate campaign, which incorporates key moments with the Climate Coalition. You will do this by:

  • Organising at least one community action outlined by CAFOD
  • Participating in our 2019 Valentine’s Day action
  • A blog post highlighting your activities(you do the writing and we will do the rest!)
  • a news story in local press, with the support of our media team

We hope the delegation will express the diversity of the community from geography, life stage, politics, education, background.

Participants must be 18 or older and will have to pay or fundraise £100 to support part of the cost of this trip. Participants are also expected to attend a training day on Sunday 21 October at Romero House, London; and a debrief session on 19 January 2019.

Please send completed forms to or post them to Campaigns team, CAFOD, Romero House, 55 Westminster Bridge Road, London, SE1 7JB.
