Haas Scholarship Application
District II, DE/PA/WV Region
  • One (1) $1,000 Haas Scholarships will be awarded to NAEP DII, DE/PA/WV members. Funding may be used exclusively toward the expense of attending any NAEP professional education event or program during the 2017 calendar year.
  • Applicants must be actively working for an NAEP member institution of the DE/PA/WV region.
  • Scholarship recipients will be notified during the DII Regional conference, DE/PA/WV meeting at the Kalahari Resort, Pocono Manor, PA on Wednesday, September28, 2016.

Note:The scholarship monies may be used when registering for events, using a coupon code provided by the National office. Other funds are paid on a reimbursement basis using a standard reimbursement form, including receipts. Winners will be asked to send a copy of the completed registration, travel receipts, and a completed NAEP reimbursement form to receive a reimbursement check issued by NAEP DII, DE/PS/WV Region to your institution.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Applications will only be accepted from individuals who are employed by an active NAEP member institution of the District II, DE/PA/WV region
  2. To be considered for the 2017 Haas scholarship award, a candidate must complete the entire application, sign, and email to the Regional Immediate Past President.
  3. The same individual will not be considered for a scholarship in consecutive years, unless there are no other applicants.
  4. Members of the selection committee will not be eligible, but other applicants from their institutions will be eligible.
  5. Notice of award will be made during the DII Regional conference, DE/PA/WV meeting at the Kalahari Resort, Pocono Manor, PA on Wednesday, September 28, 2016.
  6. All applications received by the stated deadline, will be evaluated by the selection committee according to the following criteria:
  • 20%Explanation of how the training/knowledge will be applied by the individual
  • 20% Benefits that will be generated to the individual and his/her institution
  • 20% Explanation of how the scholarship will be used. The specific event/institute that will be attended and what expenses that will be covered.
  • 20% The effort and thoroughness put forth in the completion of the application
  • 20%Active participation in NAEP and volunteerism
