Guidance for applicants

Ifyou are not satisfied with the outcome of your First Stage appeal and you consider that a further appeal is justified, complete this form and submit it to the Appeals Officer.

This form must be submitted within 14 days of the date of your First Stage appeal meeting.

This written appeal must state the grounds on which the appeal is sought and should be accompanied by appropriate documentary evidence.

The Second Stage Appeals Panel will meet in closed session initially, to determine whether there are grounds for appeal.

Section B

The grounds for appeal (as referenced in Section L of the Academic Regulations) are as follows:

  1. that the Assessors have given insufficient weight to extenuating circumstances;
  1. that the student's progress has been adversely affected by extenuating circumstances which the student has for good reason been unable to make known to the Assessors;
  1. that there has been a material administrative error at a stage of the assessment process, or that some material irregularity has occurred;
  1. that the assessment procedure has not been conducted in accordance with the approved regulations.
