1.Job title: Field trials officer (NIAB Innovation Farm) Centre: Operations
Grade:B Location: Cambridge HQ
Reports to: Cambridge Trials Centre Manager
Line Manages:No full-time direct line management responsibility but will have occasional functional management of students and other casual workers
2. Main purpose of role:
Assisting with the delivery ofNIAB Innovation Farm field exhibits comprising of a diverse range of species from seed preparation, drilling, monitoring, spraying, harvest, processing and storage of material for future use.
To assist with maintaining the NIAB Innovation Farm exhibits to a high standard for events and visitors.
The role also has responsibilities for assisting with other trial management activities undertaken by the
Cambridge Centre.
3. Financial authority/responsibility (e.g. delegated budget, authorisation level, approx value of contracts etc):
Able to raise purchase order’ for field related consumables in line with ERDF procurement guidelines

4. Key relationships (external and internal):

Colleagues within the NIAB Innovation Farm team, Cambridge Centre including Seed Handling Unit, Trial Services to deliver field work

Assisting with other trials work required as part of the Cambridge region. / 5
6. Working conditions: Office, Field, Glasshouse –unsociable hours will be required at peak times.
