  • AdoptBack of ISO 17078-1 to API 19G1
  • On the vote to“adopt back”ISO 17078-1 to API 19G1, Weatherford expressed concern that the FEA limit of 5% for modeling of the gas-lift mandrels to sustain loading is too tight.
  • The proposal is to change this limit to 10%.
  • The ISO document will be changed in 4 – 6 months, per the ISO Work Group 4.
  • The “adopt back “of the ISO document to API will occur after the updated ISO document is approved.
  • When this happens, the old API 11V1 will continue in place for a period of time.
  • Eventually, there will be an audit for companies to show that they are qualified to work under 17078-1 and 17078-2. Then companies will be able to add an API Monogram, once they are approved.
  • We still need to determine from API whether or not they need to ballot the new API 19G1.(Once ISO 17078-1 is changed, the SC19 will need to ballot the changed document once again.)
  • Adopt Back of ISO 17078-2 to API 19G2
  • There were no comments when this was balloted, so this should proceed seamlessly.
  • Current Status of 19G9 – Dual Gas-Lift
  • We are waiting on API to publish the current version of 19G9.
  • We are waiting on API to establish a contract with David McCalvin to perform editing on the document.
  • Work on API RP11V2, 11V6, and 11V8.
  • There has been no progress on these items that were covered in the minutes of the last meeting.
  • API RP 19G11
  • The next meeting will be Sept. 23, 2009.
  • When the document has been drafted, there will be a word-for-word read through of the document.
  • API RP 19G12
  • The next meetingwill follow this meeting, on Sept. 22, 2009.
  • API RP 19G13
  • The next meeting will be on Sept. 22, 2009.
  • Status of ISO 17078-3 (Running Tools, Pulling Tools, and Latches)
  • This document has been sent to ISO membership for final ballot.
  • This should be published before the end of 2009.
  • To see a draft, go to ISO documents. The log-in is iso_gaslift and password is moreoil.
  • Status of ISO 17078-4
  • This is being prepared for final FDIS. (Final Draft International Standard)
  • It should be published by the end of 2009.

Minutes: Feb. 5, 2010
  • Back adoption of ISO 17078-1 and ISO 17078-2 to API 19G1 and API 19G2 has been approved by API Sub-Committee 19.
  • Minor changes to ISO 17078-2 have been made.
  • We believe that this has been approved by API as of this time.
  • API PR 11V2 will be replaced by API 19G2, once it is adopted. This adopt back has already been approved by SC 19.
  • Adopt back of ISO 17078-3 to API 19G3 has been approved by SC 19. This will be the first document on latches, running tools, pulling tools, and kick-over tools in the API.
  • Adopt back of ISO 17078-4 to API 19G4 has been approved by SC 19.
  • Note: The Task Group requests that ISO Task Group 17078and ISO Work Group 4 reconsider the section on Gas-Lift Operations personnel in ISO 17078-4. The Task Group is OK with this being consider at the first five-year review of the document. An alternative would be to consider adding this to API RP 11V5. The Task Group’s agenda is currently full, so we will hold this for now. If it is done this way, this will become API RP 19G5.
  • There is a proposal to add gas-lift valve performance to API RP 11V6. An API resource request has been prepared. A fourth example using valve performance will be added. The example should be consistent with Annex H in ISO17078-2. In the process, the whole document will be reviewed. The new document will be named API 19G6.
  • API RP 11V7 will be replaced by API 19G4.
  • There is a request to make editorial changes to API RP 11V8. The Task Group will need to review the revised document and then it will become API RP 19G8.
  • Note: The Task Group requests that API send a copy of API RP 11V8 to the members of the 19G Task Group.
  • Note: The Task Group requests that API send a “word” version of API RP 19G9to David McCalvin.
  • There is a request to add some minor enhancements to API RP 19G9. Cleon Dunham will discuss this with David McCalvin and will work any changes so as to not affect his work schedule.
  • There are no plans to work on API RP 11V10 at this time.
  • Note: The Task Group requests that API to let us know the number of copies of the various gas-lift documents that have been sold.
  • The API RP 19G11 Work Group will perform word-by-word read through of API 19G11 on Feb. 8 and 9, 2010.
  • API 19G12 is under development. The Work Group will meet at 1:00 on Feb. 5.
  • API 19G13 is under development. The Work Group will meet on May 11, 2010 at Statoil and July 21, 2010 at Schlumberger.
