Fun run rules
The event rules are to make sure everything goes well on the day and to ensure the safety of all participants. We retain the right to refuse entry to anyone declaring false information on their application, not making the required payment, or otherwise failing to meet the entry requirements. In any and all circumstances we retain the right to refuse entry to any person.
Anyone over the age of 14 years old can enter the 10k Fun Run.
The organisers reserve the right to cancel the event without notice should they consider this necessary for safety reasons including inclement weather. Refunds won't be given if this happens.
Each competitor will compete on the approved course as directed, will not accept outside assistance and will accept the organisers’ decision as final.
No refunds of entry fees.
All participants must follow the directions of race officials, marshals and follow the course as marked.
You must make way immediately for all emergency vehicles, including Police, Fire Brigade and Ambulance.
The organisers reserve the right to alter without notice any of the Race Rules which govern the event.
In the event of a tie, the tied competitors will be placed in ascending order of their race numbers.
No dogs permitted to accompany runners.
By taking part, all participants confirm that they are happy for their names and any footage or photographs taken during their participation in the Pete Hayes Handsworth 10k to be used to publicise future runs.
All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner during their participation in the event.
Baby joggers, baby strollers, wheelchairs and any other wheeled device such as scooters are not permitted on the course.
All participants must acknowledge and agree that personal information (including medical information entered on their event number or collected by event medical staff during or after the fun run) can be stored, used and disclosed by the organisers in connection with the organisation, promotion and administration of the fun run and for the compilation of statistical information.
Any participant who has been found by a course marshal, event official to have gained an unfair advantage by intentionally shortening the route of the event ("cutting the course") shall be immediately disqualified from the run and banned from future participation in any future runs at the discretion of event officials.
Medical personnel authorised by the organisers to do so may examine any participant who appears in distress. If in the sole opinion of authorised medical personnel it is in the best interest of the participant's health and welfare, medical personnel can remove the participant from the run.
