We need every Provider's assistance to meet this goal by electronically prescribing patients' NON-Controlled medications at discharge.
What will change:
  • Beginning in early November, the PowerChart prescription default will be the patient's Preferred Pharmacy, as entered by the nurse. It will no longer be defaulted to a printer, unless it has not yet been entered by the nurse.
  • HCH outpatient pharmacy will be available to fill patient prescriptions ePrescribed by the provider for patient pickup.
  • At HCGH, Blue Door Pharmacy will deliver patient's ePrescribed meds to the bedside if the patient agrees to have their discharge medications ePrescribed to Blue Door.
NOTE:
  • Controlled substances will still need to be printed from PowerChart until secondary authentication equipment is available early in 2017.
