Description and Requirements
The vision of the American Youth Soccer Organization is to provide world-class youth soccer programs that enrich children’s lives. We have been accomplishing this for the children of Antelope and the surrounding communities since 1991. We promote a fun, family soccer environment based on the six AYSO philosophies: Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship, Player Development.
The Award
Two scholarship pools of $1,000.00 will be awarded to male and female graduating seniors based upon meeting the eligibility criteria and the essay. The number of scholarships and amounts to be determined by the committee.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
2. Must be planning to attend a college or a technical or vocational school.
3. Must have played with Antelope AYSO during his or her high school years.
Application Submission Requirements
The application must include a personal statement between 1,000-1,250 words, double-spaced. The prompt can be found at the end of the application.
The application must also include a recommendation from someone who can attest to the applicant’s embodiment of the six AYSO Philosophies.
Deadline
Applications must be submitted to your school’s College & Career Center no later than 3:00pm on Friday, February 27th, 2015.
Selection and Award Process
The committee will make the final selection by March 31st, 2015.
Awardees will receive an awards certificate at his or her high school Awards Night. Proof of full-time enrollment must be shown prior to distribution of the scholarship monies. Send proof to: Antelope AYSO—Scholarship Committee, 7909 Walerga Road, #112-156, Antelope, CA 95843.
