TO THE ADMINISTRATOR ADDRESSED:

SUBJECT:Annual Evaluation Reports

Annual Report on Student Expulsion, Gun-Free Schools Act

The Annual Report on Student Expulsion (Gun-Free Schools report) must be completed and submitted to TEA through the new automated, web-based reporting system posted on the Division of Student Support Programs web site.

The LEA will not receive contingent approval or a Notice of Grant Award (NOGA) for any of its federal education programs funded under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) until this report has been submitted through the web-based system. No paper copies will be accepted. Any paper copy that is received will be voided and returned to the LEA.

Automated Consolidated Evaluation System

The Automated Consolidated Evaluation System (ACES) is scheduled to be posted on the Division of Student Support Programs web site by the first week of June. The Annual Evaluation Reports will be submitted via the new automated, web-based reporting system for the following programs:

Title I, Part A

Title I, Part D, Subpart 2

Title II, Part B

Title IV—Safe and Drug-Free Schools

Title VI—Class-Size Reduction Program

All applicable program evaluations that are a part of the ACES data reporting system must be submitted to TEA no later than August 15, 2001. If any required program evaluation within the ACES system is submitted after August 15, 2001, the entire data collection is considered late.

Data worksheets for programs included in the ACES system are currently available through the Division of Student Support Programs web site. No paper copies will be accepted. Any paper copy that is received will be voided and returned to the LEA.

The Division of Student Support Programs has received revised data elements for the Title VI—Class-Size Reduction Program from the USDE. Although the data being requested in the Class-Size Reduction evaluation report have changed, it is anticipated that all LEAs will be able to provide the requested data.

For assistance in completing either the Gun-Free Schools Report or the program evaluation reports included in ACES, contact Mr. Fidel Alvarez in the Division of Student Support Programs at (512) 463-9374.

Sincerely,

Nora Ibañez Hancock, Ed. D.
