  1. For an online questionnaire

Invitation to take part in research into students’ attitudes towards staying safe at university[MM1]

I am a Psychology student at Oxford Brookes University[MM2] carrying out research for my final year project.

Many universities run campaigns to help students think about staying safe
on nights out, preventing burglary, staying safe online, and about sexual
consent. However, not much is known about what students themselves think
about these topics, and the existing campaigns.[MM3]

This online questionnaire[MM4]is aboutstudents’ attitudes towards staying safe at university[MM5]. The survey willtake approximately 20 minutes to complete.[MM6]

  1. For a study conducted face to face

Invitation to take part in research into the content of memories of significant life events [MM10]

I am a Psychology student at Oxford Brookes University[MM11] carrying out research for my final year project.

The study of autobiographical memories suggests that they are a key part of our sense of self. While there has been research into how general or specific autobiographical memories are and how that relates to personality characteristics, little is known about their relationship with behaviour of feelings when in social settings. This research aims to investigate the relationship between the content of autobiographical memory and anxiety about social interactions[MM12].

This research involves completing a questionnaire about social anxiety and being interviewed [MM13]about the memories that are most important to you. You would be asked to come to the Psychology rooms at Oxford Brookes University at a time convenient to you. The questionnaire and interview willtake approximately 40 minutes of your time.[MM14]
The full participant information sheet is attached to this email. If you are interested in taking part, please email the researcher to arrange a time for the interview[MM15]If you have any questions [MM16]then please contact the researcher [researcher name] by emailingemail_address_of_researcher
