Nursery Manager (Maternity cover)

We currently require a Manager to join our friendly team on a maternity cover contract.
This full time role would be 40 hours a week on a regular shift basis, from Monday to Friday, for 51 weeks of the year.
* Provide a high standard of quality care and education throughout the nursery
* Be aware of and act in accordance with current legislation, and the nurseries policies and procedures
* To be a named safeguarding officer and attend regular training. Follow and implement the settings safeguarding policies and procedures contributing to concern identification, recording and working in partnership with staff
* Supervise and support all staff within the nursery in their day to day duties including recruitment and induction, appraisals, training and development, individual supervision and, where necessary, discipline
* Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members
* Liaise and work in partnership with outside agencies such as the PSCB safeguarding team and health and safety advisor
* Co-ordinate with appropriate agencies regarding trainee/student placements and supervise accordingly
* To liaise with the Directors daily and attend regular staff meetings
* Market and advertise the nursery to ensure the nursery runs to its full capacity via show round visits
* Work with parents of special educational needs children to be fully integrated within the nursery
* Oversee and evaluate the EYFS and cohort tracker
* Prepare wages on a monthly basis
* Monitor health and safety policies and procedures in all aspects of childcare
* Monitor and evaluate accidents, incidents, hazards, maintenance and the health and safety log books
* Respect the confidentiality of all information relating to pupils and their families, including the day to day running of the nursery
* You will be someone who is friendly and understands and thrives on the value of teamwork.
* You will have a sound understanding the Early Years Foundation Stage, and the observation assessment cycle.
* It is essential that you have a child centred approach with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
You will need to have the following qualifications, training and experience:
* Minimum qualification to NVQ Childcare Level 3 or equivalent.
* Have experience of working with children between the ages of 2 to 5 years.
* Have at least two years managerial experience.
