Subject: New Casey Life Skills Assessment (CLSA)

Date: February 2012

The purpose of this letter is to inform Preparation for Adult Living (PAL) Life Skills Training and Assessment Contract Providers about the upcoming changes to the Ansell-Casey Life Skills Assessment.

Highlights of changes are as follows:

· Name change to Casey Life Skills Assessment (CLSA)

· Assessment more engaging for youth

· One main assessment for youth ages 14-21

· Management tools added

Regional PAL Staff Leads are responsible for training PAL Life Skills Training and Assessment Contract Providers about the new changes by March 15, 2012. PAL Contractors should not begin administering the new assessment until after March 15, 2012, when training is complete and contractor staff has been added by Regional PAL Staff Leads as a "caseworker" associated with the regional provider/agency profile set up. It is anticipated the old assessment will be available for three months after the launch of the new website in March.
