International Council

Objective:

The Council members will be expected to work with Pallium India to

  • provide a forum for supporters and practitionersof palliative care anywhere in the world
  • advocate for Palliative Care in India and other LMICs
  • help develop guidelines, protocols to aid practice
  • assist with training and teaching

Program features:

Mr. Bruce Davis of the Bruce Davis Trust, a philanthropist from the UK, who has funded and encouraged many palliative care programs in India, is the patron of the International Council of Pallium India.

  • The council will work towards development of palliative care in India.
  • The council will be directly responsible to the trust (Pallium India)
  • The functioning of the council in countries other than India would be informal in nature, however, depending on the individual country situation, if it is necessary to go in for formal registration in that country, that will be taken up on an individual basis.
  • Pallium India will ensure that any resources generated outside in India for a specific area or a specific project in India, will be used only for that purpose.
  • Members will be informed of our activities through periodic newsletters.Members will also be requested for advice and input in planning and implementation of activities of Pallium India. The reward will be the satisfaction of helping the most vulnerable section of our society in their hour of need.

Membership

Anyone who makes a donation of not less than US $ 400 (US Dollars four hundred only) and an annual donation of $80 will be invited to be a member of the International Council. Council members will get periodic information about activities of Pallium India and will be requested for opinion on policy matters pertaining to the organization.

Donations made to Pallium India are exempt from income tax under 80G(s)(VI) of the Income Tax Act of India.
