Amateur Radio Technician License Class

The Morgan County Amateur Radio Club, KM7ARC, will be holding an amateur radio technician license class in September. Testing for the license will be the first Wednesday in October in Ogden. Testing will be conducted by the Ogden Amateur Radio Club and its W5YI VE team. There will be no charge for the class and $14.00 for testing. Complete details will be listed below. Any individual may attend and there is no age limit.

Classroom discussion will be based on the KB6NU “No Nonsense Technician License Manual”, available for free download. This manual and class is designed to assist interested individuals in passing the technician license test. Students should be ready to discuss the first 4 chapters: What is Amateur Radio, Electrical Principles, Radio Wave Characteristics and Antennas and feed lines at the first class. Students will need an electronic or printed copy of the manual and a printed band plan chart.

It is strongly recommended that you sign up for and get a Federal Registration Number (FRN) before testing. Application is free and the number is needed for testing if you do not wish to use your social security number. Available here.

Turn left go under freeway up hill to 700 E.

Turn left onto 700 E., follow for approximatly 1 mile.

At Morgan North cemetary turn right onto Mahogany Ridge Road.

Follow to Family Tree assisted living center, SAR building shares driveway and overlooks assisted living center.

Turn right and go up middle road to SAR building.
