On 5th June’04 World Environment Day was celebrated by holding a discussion on ill effect of polybags and air pollution.
On 6th June’04 a sit & draw competition was held at Ramthakur Ashram among the children in three groups.
On 13th June’04 a cultural programme was organized at Red Star Club, Amarpur.
On 5th June’04 they cleaned Amarpur Subdivisional Hospital and on 11th June’04 they cleaned Rangkang town.
On 18th & 25th July’04 they planted saplings on the bank of Fatik Sagar and on both sides of Motorstand to Rangang road.
Aranyak
On 5th June’04 an awareness meeting was organized at Arabinda Academy, Bagma. Resource persons discussed on Water pollution and preservation of water. A speech competition was also held on the day and the winners were distributed prizes at the end.
On 25th July,04 a sit & draw competition was held at Vivekananda Art School, Bagma which was followed by discussion on environment.
On 26th July’04 and on 28th july’04 discussions & Speech Competitions were arranged at Bagabasa High School and No.2 Karayamura S.B. School respectively.
Similar programes were also held at Karaiamura, Madyapara on 29th July’04 and at Barabhiya High School on 30th July’04.
On 4th July’04 a safai abhijan was conducted in Bagma areas. Villagers also participated in the safai programme.
During the month of June & July several saplings were planted in different places.
Belonia District Bharat Scouts & Guides
On 5th June,04 the students of Belonia Vidyapith H.S. School observed WED in a befitting manner.
An interschool essay & sit & draw competition was held among the students on 25th July’04 and on 31st July’04.
On 11th June’04 Vanamahotsava was celebrated at Debdaru H.S. School.
A marathon rally was organized on 17th July’04 at Belonia Town with festoons, banners containing environmental messages.
On the same day a street drama was also organized at Belonia town to make the general people aware about environment.
On 27th June’04 to 2nd October’04 several seminar cum meeting were held at different places of belonia sub-division.
Every Saturday of the month of June & July’04 safai works as well as plantation were done in different places of Belonia.
Vivekananda Yuva Kendra
On 3rd July, 04 seminar cum cultural function had been organized in Purbamura High School wherein women with other people also participated. Speakers explained the significance of World Environment Day.
They conducted a plantation programme in surrounding areas which became meaningful with the participation of all sections of the people.
Ecological Society of Tripura, Udaipur
On 5th June’04 a workshop on save drinking water was held at Chhanban.
On 20th June’04 street dramas on environment were performed at Palatana, Tepania & Tulamura areas to make the Rural People aware.
On 25th July’04 a sub-division level sit & draw competition was held at Udaipur Ramkrishna Ashram among the students of nursery to class VIII in different groups.
On 26th July’04 a seminar was organized at Kakraban H.S. School which included Debate & Quiz Competitions and leaflet distribution among the participants.
On 28th July’04 another seminar and Quiz Competition as held at Kakraban Basic Training College.
State level essay competitions were arranged on environment among the students of class VI to University level in different groups.
On 26th July,04 and on 28th July’04 two plantation programmes were held at Rajarbag Sr. Basic School and Kakraban Basic Training College.
On 3rd July’04 a Safai Abhijan was conducted at Khilpara Bazar.
Jatiya Juba Sanstha, Belonia
On 5th June’04 quiz and essay writing competitions on environment were held among the students of Riyamara High School. On the day a plantation programme was also held.
On 7th July’04 a seminar was organized at Eksho Card to make the villagers aware about the importance of clean & green environment.
On 30th July’04 another plantation programme was held at Baganbari area.
A catchy cultural programme was held on 31st July’04 at Gautamnagar. Villagers attended this programme with keen interest. The resource persons urged the people to convey the messages of cultural programme to the common people.
Jewel Club, Udaipur
On 5th June’04 a seven days programme was started by a planation. Resource persons discussed on various aspects of environment.
To make children and common people aware about environment a sit & draw competition among the children and rallies with festoons and banners were organized.
They also took a cleaning drive at Dhajanagar area. The local people including shopkeepers extended their co-operation to perform the safai programme.
They also took part in similar safai programme at Sukanta Bazar area.
Nelsi Bongcher Village Pelpui Welfare Society
On 5th June’04 World Environment Day was celebrated by organizing different programmes. About 208 persons participated in the programme. Mr. Ranga Rokhum, the main resource person discussed on water purification and on the importance of plantation.
On 15th July’04 a safai Abhijan was conducted at Nelsi Bongcher Village and School Complex involving the students also.
Netaji Garamin Sishu Unnayan Sangstha
On 5th June a sit and draw competition was held at Netaji Kinder Garden School Hall among the children in five groups.
On 8th June’04 an awareness campaign was held wherein Gram Pradhan was present as chief guest. On the same day a rally was also organized at Dhajanagar Market area with posters & banners containing environmental messages.
On 12th June’04 cultural programme was organized at Netaji Kinder Garden School which included drama & discussions on environment. Mr. M. Nagaraju, D.M. West was present as chief guest of the function. The programme was with prize distribution ceremony among the winners.
On 31st July’04 they celebrated Vanamahotsava at Udaipur College and surrounding areas.
On 12th June’04 safai & plantation was done at Dhajanagar Bazar & N.K.G. School.
Omega Science Organisation
On 5th June’04 a tablau on green environment was shown in Udaipur to Fulkumari area.
On 15th July’04 an awareness campaign on water was held at Matangini Hazra Girls’ High School where children were the main target group.
During 5th to 12th September’04 different environment related prorammes were arranged at Omega Science organization. A sit & draw competition among he children was also held.
On 6th June’04 they celebrated Vanamahotsava at Vivekananda Social Centre. 30 nos Debdaru saplings were planted on the way of Matabari to Udaipur road side. Local people extended their help to perform the Vanamahotava successfully.
On 22nd August’04 a safai was conducted at Kalyan Sagar and focused on the ill-effect of plastic carrybag in the water.
Organisation for Rural Survival
On 5th June’04 a meeting to make common people aware was held at Bankar Bazar. An Open Quiz among the market goers on environment was held at Bankar Bazar and 150 nos prizes were distributed to the winners. A drama was also staged. 1000 leaflets were also distributed among the people.
On 29th August’04 a seminar was organized at Belonia College Road wherein college students and villagers participated.
On the same day a cultural programme was held at Mirzapur, Belonia. After that a plantation proramme was held on South Mirzapur High School to All India Radio Station, Belonia Road. On 5th June’04 a safai Abhijan was also conducted at Bankar Bazar.
Palli Bandhu Sangha
On 23rd July, 2004 a seminar was held on “Keep our environment clean and green”. The target group was mainly women members of self help groups. Resource persons discussed about the cause of degradation of environment and direct sufferings of women. In the final phase of the seminar 150 different plants had been distributed among the participants.
In order to build concepts to maintain environmental ecology, they organised a campaign with the youths through a package of activities like group discussions, puppet show, rally on 30th July, 2004.
Ratanmani Community Action Society
On 30th July a sit and draw competition was organized at Shymsing High School where 43 students of classes upto class V participated. The best 10 participants were awarded.
On 27th July a rally from Shyamsing High School to Manughat was organized with around 350 students who gave environmental slogans.
About 100 nos. seedlings were planted on 28th July at the school complex and bamboo fencings were putup to protect the seedlings planted.
On July 29 a safai abhijan was conducted at Manughat market and its adjacent area. About 130 students and volunteers participated in that cleaning drive.
Renaissance Club
On 5th June’04 a cleaning drive was taken up at Udaipur Town Hall & Cremation ground by the active participation of club members. On 10th June’04 a seminar was held at R.K. Pur High School to make the student aware about environment.
On the day a plantation programme was also held by planting different saplings in the school area.
A street drama was also organized at Banduar, Matabari Bazar and Dhajanagar.
Sri Sri Ramkrisna Sarada Ashram, Belonia
On 5th June’04 WED was celebrated at the Ashram in a befitting manner where the Ashram Committee members discussed different aspects of environmental pollution and their remedies.
On 30th July’04 a discussion and a cultural proramme were organized at Belonia Girls’ S.B.School on the occasion of Vanamahotsava.
A drama was staged to make the students aware and villagers about environment.
On 1st August ’04 a workshop was organized at Munda Sabarpara wherein Subdivisional Magistrate, Belonia; Principal, Belonia Govt. Degree College, Dakshin Tripura Zilla Sabhadhipati and other resource persons were present. Awards were distributed among the villagers for proper protection of plants of last year.
On 30th July cleaning activity was taken up at Belonia S.B. Girls’ School and roadside.Every programmes were ended with plantation of saplings in the respective place.
Swamiji Social Centre
On 5th June’04 a discussion on World Environment Day was held at Dhajanagar Priyatama Samaj Siksha Kendra. About 300 participants from different villages attended the programme. To make common people aware about environment an announcements were made at Dhajanagar, Chhatiria, Tepania, Gokulpur, Purba Dhajanagar, Purba Gokulpur area.
During 5th June to 25th June’04 planation were undertaken in different areas like Dhajanagar, Chhatoria & Goalgaon villages.
Voluntary Social Development Organisaton, Sabroom
On 5th June’04 Sit & draw and extempore competition were held under the presidenship of Sri Bidhan Chahary, teacher.
Inaugural speech was given by Ms. Dipali Dey. Former Head Master and other teachers discussed on environment. Thereafter invitees including participants planted saplings. This was followed by prize distribution ceremony for different competitions.
On 27th June’04 a grand Safai Abhijan was held at Harina Hospital, Post Office, Veterinary Hospital and Harina Market.
On 3rd August’04 a discussion on environment was held at Ludhua Gaon Panchayat for the workers of Ludhua tea garden. Sri Man Mohan Das, Chairperson, Ludhua Gaon Panchayat, Manager Ludhua tea garden were present.
Youth Forum
On 3rd August’04 an essay competition was held in Barpathari Class XII School among the students of class IX & X.
On 8th August’04 a sit & draw competition was held among the students of Nursery and Class I to Class VIII.
On 10th October’04 a seminar was held at community Hall of Barapathari where Sri Himangshu Roy, Sahashabhadhipati was present as Chief Guest . The programme ended with prize distribution ceremony for different competitions.
On 15th August’04 a Safai Abhijan was conducted at Barapathari Class XII School and at Barpathary Primary Health Centre on September’04.
On 20th September’04 plantation were made at Barpathari Primary Health Centre.
Abhoynagar H/S School
On 5th June’04 they observed World Environment Day at School Complex by organizing different Environment related programmes.
On 7th August’04 an awareness programme was held at school to make the student aware about the importance of plantation in the Environment.
On 24th July’04 they planted different saplings in the school premises and on 25th September’04 a cleaning drive was taken up at Nalua Hospital.
Amarpur H.S. School
On 21st September about 700 leaflets were distributed among the people of Amarpur Nagar Panchayat. On 23rd September a colourful rally was organized which moved through all important locations of Amarpur with the participation of 663 students.
Some programmes were taken up on 24th September. At around 7.30 am. a sit and draw competition was organized at the school premises. After that a poster campaign was held by the students. At 2 p.m. On the same day a seminar on environment was organized at the School Hall where Scientist ‘C’, TSPCB was present. Four street corner meetings were organized at Dainik Bazar, Panchowmhani Bazar, Bampur Bazar and on Miah Bazar on 24, 25, 26 and 28 September respectively. Thereafter street dramas were also organized at the same places on the same day.
Different kind of medicinal plants were planted at Loknath Ashram Complex, School Complex and at Medicinal Plants Garden during 21st September to 28th September.
Belonia Vidyapith H.S.School
On 5th June’04 World Environment Day was observed in a befitting manner in the school complex. Teachers explained the importance of the day.
On 15th July’04 sit & draw, slogan writing & essay writing competitions were held at Belonia Vidyapith Subhama Jayanti Bhawan. Leaflets on ‘Safe Water – Safe Life’ were distributed among the villagers. Postering was also done to make the villagers aware.
On 24th July they conducted safai abhijan and celebrated Vonomohatsav. They also raised a beautiful garden in the school.
Chandrapur H.S School
On 5th June’04 a plantation programme was held by planting 50 Debdaru saplings.
On 29th July’04 an orchard was raised by planting 5 nos. apple, 6 lemon, 25 mango saplings.
During 17th July’04 to 18th July’04 two cleaning drives were taken up at Chandrapur School and Chandrapur Village Market.
On 13th August’04 plasticswere removed from Kalyan Sagar and its banks.
On 30th July’04 a seminar on Conservation & Protection of water was held at Chandrapur School and a quiz competition among the students in different groups was arranged.
East Kalabaria H.S. School
A three day campaign commenced on 27th July that was inaugurated by Hon’ble MLA of Belonia, Sri Basudev Majumder. On 27th July a sit and draw competition and a speech competition among the students were held. On 28th July an essay writing and recitation competition on environment were held. Thereafter safai programmes at East Kalabaria PHC, Gram Panchayat Office area were conducted. In the morning of 30th July a rally was organized with festoons and banner. In the evening of the same day a seminar on environment protection was held where Scientific Officer, DSTE, Udaipur and BDO, Rajnagar Block were present. The programme ended with prize distribution among the winners of different competitions. Besides this 3 day programme a plantation programme was also organized.
Hrishyamukh H.S. School
On 29th September’04 a marathon rally was organized with posters, banners & slogans to make the local people aware about different aspects of Environment. About 300 students participated in the rally. A Quiz and a debate competition were also held among the students about on Environment.
On the same day they also organized Brikhshya Ropan at the school premises with bamboo fencing.
On 30th September’04 a safai abhijan was conducted at Hrishyamukh Primary Health Centre.
Shalgarah H/S School
On 5th June they observed ‘World Environment Day’ by befitting manner. All the resource persons delivered their speech on the importance of the day.
After that a safai programme was conducted by the students which was followed by plantation.
Udaipur English Medium School
During 21st to 28th July an awareness programme was taken up at Jagannath Dighi area to grow consciousness among the residents of that area. Five signboards containing messages about the dangers of water pollution were placed and few dustbins were kept at the area for collecting waste. Leaflets were also distributed among the local people.

During 9th to 10th August different competitions like sit and draw, quiz and debate were held among the students in different groups and prizes were also distributed among the winners.
On 4th October a catchy cultural programme was held on environment and ecology. A nice speech was delivered by Mr. Kiran Sankar Nandi, the Headmaster. The programme was full with songs, dances and drama.
UBC Nagar High School
On 20th July a padayatra with 200 students and local youths was organized with placards containing environmental messages from UBC Nagar to Kailnpur. On 19th July quiz, recitation, lecture, slogan competitions were organized at UBC Nagar Bazar. On the same day a street drama was organized at Ratan Bari, people from the locality attended. On 22nd July a a public meeting was organized at UBC Nagar Bazar where about 350 person were present.
On 19.07.04 cleaning of water bodies of local bazaar and PHC pond was done with the help of students and local youths.
On 21st July plantation programme was organized at bazaar area with the participation of 85 students.
Narikalyan Samity
On 5th June under the leadership of the Secretary, 20 participants cleaned the Khilpara market and Udaipur Matabari market. They also performed safai abhijan on the bank of the Kalyan sagar. On the same day they planted 50 nos of different plants on the side of the Udaipur Kakraban road.
On 6th June, 04 an awareness programme was held at Udaipur Ramesh HS School. Four resource persons were present. They advised the students as well as common people to keep their own area clean and made them aware about bad affects of deforestation.
Sejuti Sanskritik Chakra
On 30th July’04 World Environment Day was observed by organizing cultural function with group songs and dance, recitation, discussion on environment and prevention of pollution, plantation in the garden and the surroundings. They also conducted a Safai Abhijan at the school premises, East Bank of Mahadeb Dighi and Shmashan Ghat. Sri Ranjit Majumder, Councillor, Udaipur Nagar Panchayat was present as Chief Guest.
On 8th August’04 a sit & draw and an Eassy writing competition were held.
On 2nd October’04 another cultural programme was held. This was concluded by distribution of prizes among the winners.
