Sergio has exhibited his academic skills since he first attended Foothill in the 1st grade by meeting or exceeding the standards and always striving to do his best. He has received numerous Outstanding Academic Awards and Principal Awards for his excellence in academics. Sergio’s favorite subject is math which will serve him well in his journey to become a surgeon after he attends Stanford University.

Outside of school Sergio demonstrates his outstanding citizenship by helping with fundraisers at his church, playing in a community soccer league, and helping his younger brother with his homework. His teachers all consider Sergio a great role model to his fellow students at Foothill.

It is a great pleasure to honor Sergio Becerra as the Alvord Unified School District Student of the Month for September 2004.

b. Volunteer of the Month:

Foothill Elementary School is honored to recognize Agustin Tinajero as the Alvord Unified School District Volunteer of the Month for September 2004.

Agustin is a former Foothill student and Wells Middle School graduate. Agustin has shown his dedication to Foothill and his community by giving his time every summer and every school break for the past two years to help the staff and students at Foothill Elementary School. His outstanding dedication, generosity, and kindness are what make Agustin such a remarkable volunteer and person.

Agustin’s dedication is not only noticed by the staff at Foothill but also by the students who have benefited by his presence and assistance. With his friendly smile and cherry disposition, Agustin makes a connection with each individual student he comes in contact with.

Agustin has dedicated his time and generosity to many staff members over the years including his former teachers, incoming teachers, as well as his younger siblings’ teachers. He is willing and able to take on a new challenge and exceed what is expected of him from working one-on-one with a struggling student to putting up bulletin boards.

Agustin’s connection with Foothill students extends beyond the school campus. His accomplishments make him an exemplary role model in the community. Agustin scored in the 99th percentile on the CAT6, he was captain of his soccer team, and he has won awards for his poetry, and taught himself how to play numerous musical instruments. Furthermore, Agustin exceeds in all academic standards although his favorite subject is math. In the future he hopes to attend a university where he can pursue his passion for mathematics.

Foothill Elementary School is proud to recognize Agustin Tinajero as the Alvord Unified School District Volunteer of the Month for September 2004.
