Novice Events

Novice events are for players with little or no tournament experience. To play in novice events players must be unrated or have a USATT rating under 800. If you have won a previous novice singles event, you are no longer eligible to compete in the novice events. You do not need a USATT membership and you do not need to pay the rating fee to play in the novice events. If you need a partner, please write “partner needed.”

All USATT regulations will apply. Go to and go to “official rules”for more information.

Only USATT-approved equipment will be used: Ten Butterfly Match Rollaway tables, five Stiga Elite Roller tables, and Nittaku Premium 3-star balls (orange).

Events with insufficient entries may be canceled. Fees will be refunded or you will be placed in the next higher rated event.

All matches will be best three out of five games. The top finisher in each preliminary round robin will advance to a single elimination round.
