Entry Deadline and Check-In Policy

All entries must include payment and be received no later than Thursday, January 25, 2007. Make checks payable and send to:

All participants must check-in at tournament desk at least 30 minutes before their first event is scheduled to begin. Tables will be available for warm-up one hour before the first event of the day.

USATT Memberships and Rating Fee

All participants must have a current USATT membership or purchase one before playing in the tournament except those participants playing only in Friday night events. All participants must pay the $4 USATT rating fee except those participants playing only in Friday night events or doubles events. The One-time tourney pass is available only to players who have never had a USATT membership. Please include payment for your USATT membership and rating fee with your entry made payable to “Table Tennis Minnesota.” If you do not know if your membership is current, you can purchase the membership at the tournament.

Awards

Medals will be awarded to the champion, runner-up, and both semi-finalists in each event.

Special Olympics Events

Athletes entry fee includes one singles event and unified doubles event. Divisioning will be done prior to tournament. Doubles partners should be pre-registered. We will attempt to line up partners if needed. Please indicate on registration form if you need a partner. Singles will be round robin format, doubles will be single-elimination. If you have more questions about the Special Olympics events, call Rex Harris at (952) 423-6222.

Novice Events

Novice events are for players with little or no tournament experience. To play in novice events players must be unrated or have a USATT rating under 800. If you have won a previous novice singles event, you are no longer eligible to compete in the novice events. You do not need a USATT membership and you do not need to pay the rating fee to play in the novice events. If you need a partner, please write “partner needed.”

Rules and Policies

All USATT regulations will apply. Go to and go to “official rules”for more information.

Only USATT-approved equipment will be used: Ten Butterfly Match Rollaway tables, five Stiga Elite Roller tables, and Nittaku Premium 3-star balls (orange).

Events with insufficient entries may be canceled. Fees will be refunded or you will be placed in the next higher rated event.

All matches will be best three out of five games. The top finisher in each preliminary round robin will advance to a single elimination round.

Junior event eligibility is determined by the player’s age on January 26, 2007. Masters (40+) event eligibility is determined by the player’s age on December 31, 2007.

Default time is 10 minutes after the match has been called.

Unrated players should contact the tournament director before entering rating events. Unrated players will be given an estimated rating and entered in appropriate rating events. Unrated players must purchase a USATT membership or a one-time tourney pass except those entered only in Friday night events.

Non-Minnesota Residents

If you live outside of Minnesota, you are welcome to participate in all appropriate rating events and allappropriate events held on Friday night. You cannot participate in events where state champions will be determined. The state championship events are Open Singles, Open Doubles, Women’s Singles, Juniors U-18 and Masters 40+.
