IMPROVS

Friday 3/23 2:30-5:30 Wrestling Room

The instructions for this event include: Go the Improv Room. You may either bring a group from your school or meet two other Thespians (from a different troupe); form a team; pick up a team number and information sheet. Watch other teams perform. When your team is up you will pick up an improv slip with a scene title. You and your partners will come up with the characters, a scene and an objective for each character. No planning-it’s improv!

You can be disqualified for not being a good audience member. Your improv can only be 3 minutes. Timing starts from the first word or movement. This does not include your title and performance number. A timer will raise his hand at 2 min 45 sec. At 3 minutes he will call time. Drop your heads, if you finish before 3 minutes also drop your heads to indicate you are done. Doors will be open on the hour and the half-hour for exiting. Judges have the right to stop any improve that is in poor taste or is using profanity. No stereotyping for cheap laughs and don’t use drug or alcohol humor. Remember, Thespians have class. Remember this is about working together, not pushing for laughs. Some of the best improvs are of a serious nature.
