All requests for new approved part-time positions must go to the Human Resource Committee (HRC) for approval. To request a new position you must follow these four steps:

Step 1) Choose Category. From the chart below, determine which category best suits the job you wish to fill.

Step 2) Complete Paperwork. All of the following five items must be completed before your request can be considered:

  • Request for Approved Part-time Position form with requested signatures (attached to this email)
  • Memo from the department head (describing the need and any special considerations)
  • Memo of support from an appropriate administrator (Dean, Director or Assistant Vice President)
  • Organizational chart for the area in which the proposed employee will be working, including student employees who work in the area
  • Job description, including the qualifications and responsibilities for the position.

Step 3) Obtain Signatures. Have the request form signed by your department head and dean/director. I will be taking the forms up to be signed by the Vice President. The Vice President’s signature signifies his or her knowledge that the request is being submitted, not approval of the request. Please make sure that the Vice President is aware of the request

Step 4) Submit request. In order to have your request considered by the Human Resource Committee, please return the request form, together with supporting documentation, to John Young, Assistant Director, Employment Services (Staff & Administrative Office), D-70 ASB.
