Coast Guard (GS-ME-1601)/POLA (NP-ME-1601)

Sea bag List:

ALL ITEMS MUST BE PROPERLY STENCILED/LABLED WITH CADET NAME

All items below comprise the sea bag list. Please note that it is not broken down item by item. If you do not know what your complete uniform is comprised of at this point you should talk with a shipmate and get squared away.

Sea Bag

Padlock, keyed type with 2 keys (1 in service jacket)

Complete summer dress white uniform male or female as appropriate in a garment bag

Minimum of 2 complete work uniforms as issued by home unit. Includes any combination of NWUs – BDUs.

Boots, combat, black.

Shoes, Dress uniform

Athletic shoes (sneakers) appropriate for PT.

Socks, Black 6 pair

Socks, White 4 pair

Underwear 8 pair

Undershirts 8 (appropriate for your working uniform) blue, white, brown, as needed plus for dress uniform

Shorts, athletic (PT) navy blue or black 2 pair minimum

Civilian clothing suitable for out in public (Team Building)

Sweat Pants/Shirt – Plain Blue or Gray NSCC or Navy Logo are OK

Shower shoes

Bath towels 2

Wash cloths 2

Mess laundry bag

Tee shirt & gym shorts for nighttime wear (not your PT gear)

Personal hygiene kit – soap, soap holder, shaving gear, toothpaste, toothbrush, comb/brush, shampoo, deodorant, foot/body powder, contact lens solution, etc.) NO aerosol cans or glass containers

Sunscreen, SPF30 or higher

Camelback highly recommended, otherwise canteen, military type with web belt.

Sewing Kit

Pen and pocket size notebook for notes.

Shoe shine kit (paste, brush, applicator, rag)

Wristwatch

Flashlight

Sleeping bag

Pillow w/case

Swimsuit – Dark Colored (Females must have one piece)

Female: personal hygiene items as needed

Female: Sports bra 4 min

The quantities mentioned are MINIMUM required amounts. You may add to the quantity of any item.

Cadets will not bring any USNSCC prohibited items.

Cadets do not need and will not be allowed to have any electronic items or cameras during the course of the training. Cadets will be allowed to bring spending money for the Coast Guard Exchange. It is recommended that cadets bring money in a separate envelope to be turned in at check-in (optional). Cadets will be allowed access to spending money when they go to the exchange.

Cadets that are flying to the training are allowed to bring their cell phones to the training. Once cadets arrive they will be required to make contact with their parents. Once contact has been made cadets will turn in their cell phones. Phones will be returned after graduation.
