ALL COMMITTEE MEMBERS HAVE TO STAND DOWN AND BE RE ELECTED AT EVERY ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING. THEREFORE THE ROLES BELOW ARE OPEN TO EVERYONE. IT IS QUITE POSSIBLE WE HAVE MORE THAN ONE NOMINATION FOR EACH ROLE HENCE WE NEED YOUR APPLICATION FORMS BACK 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE AGM. EITHER WAY WE WILL CONTACT YOU BEFORE THE DAY TO EXPLAIN THE NEXT PART OF THE PROCEDURE. THE FINAL DECISION WILL BE MADE ON THE DAY. (YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ATTEND THE MEETING TO APPLY.)
All aspects of running a charity have to be covered whether small or large as you can imagine. The roles below are laid out in an ideal situation, however Corpal is not a big Charity and are looking for anyone to join us as a Trustee/Committee member if they are Pro-active and can offer to help with any of the below responsibilities. Committee members support each other, but ideally we need people to apply with some experience in at least two of the roles below.
CHAIRPERSON – Oversee all the Trustees, ensure the smooth running of Corpal, update Trustees where necessary on information relevant to Corpal. Make the final decision if votes even. Keep in contact with Treasurer on regular basis re Finance situation of Corpal. Chase up Trustees if needed to comply with their duties. Delegate duties where necessary. Making sure Corpal is represented correctly on any Social Media sites.
SECRETARY – Responsible for paperwork relevant to AGM and meetings, Letters, thank you letters, update articles on website, liaise with the Website Officer. Ordering merchandise as and when required. Correspondence as required. Updating the Charity Commission.
TREASURER – Responsible for all financial issues for Corpal, Tax Returns, Annual Returns, upload to the Charity Commission, record donations where possible. Thank you letters or share with Secretary.
FUNDRAISING OFFICER – Responsible for encouraging members, researching, looking into grants, support fundraising events by members either by attending or constant support, sending out merchandise to support those events. Keeping the committee informed of what events are taking place etc.
WEBSITE Working with the secretary, ensuring updates to website are done, working with our website person to make sure all updates are uploaded correctly within a reasonable timescale. Keep checking the website to make sure all areas are working.
AICARDI SYNDROME CONTACT - Member to be available for contact with families affected by Aicardi Syndrome with support from other Trustees.
ORDINARY COMMITTEE MEMBERS
Supporting all the members above in their work. Promoting Corpal, looking for fundraising ideas. Helping out with Social Media. Eg Facebook/Twitter
Requirements
All the above Trustees/Committee members will need to attend Corpal meetings throughout the year. Normally by Teleconference in the evening. Corpal tries to hold a minimum of 3 meetings throughout the year and one face to face meeting. This is in addition to the AGM.
NEW! DATE PROTECTION OFFICER responsibilities due to the new legislation coming in from May, however this has to be confirmed on what requirements will be needed.
Corpal is a small friendly Charity/Support Group. But without the help above, Corpal will not be available to those affected by the condition. If you have a few hours to spare, please consider seriously if you can help us. Thank you.

At present Corpal has employed an Administrator, who is presently looking after the majority of the work above with the support of all Trustees, however this position is where funding is is available so depends on the financial situation of Corpal. Therefore the majority of the above areas will need to be covered and administered between the Committee/Trustees if no administrator is employed.
