ITINERARY

Day 1: / Tokyo / Shiba Park Hotel or Similar

Upon arrival in Tokyo, transfer to the hotel by airport limousine bus and check in. The remainder of the day will be at your own leisure to enjoy.

Day 2: / Tokyo / Shiba Park Hotel or Similar

Today, visit the magnificent Mt. Fuji. First, head to the 5th Station and enjoy scenery of rural Japan driving along to Mt. Fuji and a panoramic view from the 5th Station. After lunch, take the Ropeway in Hakone and see the view of from above. Lastly, take the Pirate boat cruise on Lake Ashi. Cruising across peaceful Lake Ashi, enjoy the picturesque and serene natural beauty of the crater Lake. Return back to Tokyo after.

Day 3: Wed / Tokyo / Shiba Park Hotel or Similar

This morning, take a half day tour of Tokyo and visit some of the famous sites that the city has to offered. First, visit the Tokyo Tower and enjoy a panorama view of Tokyo from the main observation platform. Continue to Meiji Shrine and take in a fine example of Japanese shrine architecture, nestled in a peaceful, picturesque area. Drive by the Akasaka Guest House and National Diet Building to the Imperial Palace East Garden. Enjoy a pleasant walk in the East Garden, as a place of historical interest and scenic beauty. Drive through the Ginza Shopping District. Tour disbands in Ginza. Make your own way back to the hotel or continue to explore the city on your own arrangement.

Day 4: / Tokyo - Hiroshima / Hotel New Hiroden or Similar

Today, make your own way to the Shinagawa Station for your bullet train ride to Hiroshima. Upon arrival, walk to hotel and check in. The remainder of the day will be yours to enjoy.

Day 5: / Hiroshima / Hotel New Hiroden or Similar

Today, visit the World Heritage sites of Hiroshima and Miyajima. Make your own way to Hotel Granvia to meet the group. Travel to Miyajima Port and take a short ferry to Miyajima. Visit the Itsukushima Shine, a World Heritage site. Established in the 6th century, this shrine is one of Japan's finest, and is famous for its beautiful Shinden-zukuri style structure. The contrast of the green of Mount Misen behind the lacquered shrine pavilion and the blue of the Seto Sea is beautiful and evocative of the underwater palace of Ryugujo. Continue to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park & Museum. This large-scale park was established in 1949 after the Pacific War ended, and is visited by countless visitors as a symbol of peace. The museum within the park is an Important Cultural Property of Japan, and was built to remind future generations of the terror wrought by atomic bombs.

See the Atomic Bomb Dome, a symbol of the disastrous atomic bombing during WWII, the first atomic bombs used in human history, and has been preserved as it was to promote peace and elimination of atomic weapons around the world. Tour disbands at the Hiroshima Station. Make your own way back to the hotel or continue to explore the city on your own arrangement

Day 6: / Hiroshima - Kyoto / New Miyako Hotel or Similar

Depart Hiroshima and take the bullet train to Kyoto. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and check in. The remainder of the day will be yours to enjoy.

Day 7: / Kyoto - Nara - Kyoto / New Miyako Hotel or Similar

Today, take a full day tour and see what Kyoto & Nara have to offered. Make your own way to the Kyoto station to meet the group and depart to Nara. Visit the Todaiji Temple which has an enormous bronze Budha image within its Daibutsuden Hall, one of the largest wooden structures in the world. Continue to Nara Park and walk among the 1,100 or so tame deer roaming about the park. They are considered divine messengers. Continue to the Kofukuji Temple. This temple was transferred from Kyoto in 710. It has a five-story pagoda, the second highest in Japan. Return back to Kyoto after. In the afternoon, visit the Kiyomizu Temple. This architecturally unique temple has a main hall on a steep slope with a wooden platform supported by pillars, from which a panoramic view of Kyoto can be enjoyed. Proceed to the Kodaiji Temple which commemorates Toyotomi Hideyoshi, a great general in 16th century. It was founded by his widow. See the Yasaka Shrine, well known as central site for the Gio Matsuri Festival that is being held in the summer. Lastly, stroll around the Gion District. Gion is one of the famous entertainment and geisha quarters, with traditional restaurants and tea-houses. In the Edo Period, geisha houses were built in this area. It still retains its tranquil, old-fashioned charm.

Day 8: / Kyoto - Osaka - Home

Today, you will be transferred to the airport by airport shuttle van for your flight back home as your trip comes to an end.
